How to Integrate Hello Bar with ConvertKit
Hello Bar still lists ConvertKit on its integrations directory as of 5 September 2026. ConvertKit rebranded to Kit. The checked help article retains the ConvertKit name; current dashboard labels have not been tested. The steps below follow How to sync your emails with ConvertKit (modified 9 February 2024).
The current pricing FAQ names ConvertKit among the integrations available on every plan, including Starter. These steps are documentation-based, not a live connection test.
How do you connect ConvertKit / Kit?
-
In Hello Bar, go to Contacts → New Contact List.
-
Click Show All Tools.
-
Select ConvertKit and click Connect.
-
In Kit (ConvertKit), open Account Settings and click Show Secret API.
-
Copy the API secret, paste it into the Hello Bar list, and click Connect.
-
Either attach the list to a ConvertKit form and add a tag, or click Done to add the address to the ConvertKit email list only.
Use that Hello Bar contact list on the campaigns that should feed Kit.
The help article describes a secret API credential but does not establish compatibility with other credential versions. Confirm the required type if the current account screen differs.
Verify the destination you selected
Before connecting, decide whether the campaign should add an address only or also use a form and tag. After connecting, submit an address you control through the intended campaign and inspect the destination profile. Record the form, tag and contact state separately from whether a welcome email arrived.
| Symptom | Next check |
|---|---|
| Secret is rejected | Confirm the account and credential type with the current connector instructions |
| Contact arrives without the expected tag | Review the saved form/tag selection |
| Contact exists but no welcome email arrives | Inspect the destination automation's entry requirements |
| Another campaign sends contacts elsewhere | Check that campaign's assigned Hello Bar contact list |
Do not assume a newer credential type is interchangeable with the secret in the documented workflow. Keep credentials out of troubleshooting notes and record only the account, campaign, test time and point of failure.
What we could not verify
- Whether the connector has been renamed to Kit inside the Hello Bar dashboard.
- Whether a Kit v4 API key works. The help article is from February 2024 and still says "Show Secret API."
- Compatibility of any current credential type not described in the help article.
Vendor help: support article, ConvertKit page. Other ESPs: Hello Bar integrations.
