PopupBuilder.io is an independent comparison site for popup builder software. We cover 10 tools with pricing, reviews, alternatives and 45 head-to-head pages. Editorial is written by Emel Dalabasmaz, SEO executive at Flatart. The publisher is Erelbim Yazılım Danışmanlık A.Ş. in Ankara. We do not sell campaigns, and we do not always pick the same winner.

What is PopupBuilder.io?

A reference site for people who need to pick a popup tool. It is not a popup builder. We do not run your campaigns, host your forms or take a cut of anyone's subscription.

The first pages on this domain went up in December 2022. The public set now includes:

• an overview for each of the 10 tools
• a pricing breakdown, a review and an alternatives page per tool
• every pairwise comparison (C(10,2) = 45)
• use-case pages (email capture, cart recovery, surveys and the rest)
• how-to posts for WordPress, Shopify and common campaign tasks

Two index hubs sit on top of that: /tools/ and /compare/. Those were added here; they are not leftovers from the older CMS.

Ghost used to serve this domain. Production still sat on Ghost while a static Next.js site was built to replace it. The job of the rebuild is URL and metadata parity with the indexed pages, not a new brand story.

Who writes the comparisons?

Emel Dalabasmaz writes the editorial. She is an SEO executive at Flatart, an advertising and public relations graduate of Anadolu University, and has more than ten years in digital marketing. The work on this site sits in the overlap of those jobs: on-site messaging, conversion pages, and SaaS pricing that has to be checked against the vendor's own page.

The byline you will see is hers. The author page carries the same credentials as the card at the bottom of every article: role, employer, degree, and profiles including LinkedIn and her site.

There is no Harvard founder, no invented origin story from 2022, and no "one-stop shop" company behind the directory. Earlier versions of this page claimed all of that. That copy was marketing filler and it is gone.

If a page ranks one tool above another, the reason should be on the page: a pricing model, a targeting gap, a Shopify-only strength, a WordPress plugin with a million installs. "Best" is scoped to a job, not a trophy.

We are not affiliated with the 10 vendors we write about. Affiliate or referral parameters on outbound links, where they exist, do not change the ranking on the page.

How do you research popup builders?

From the public pages, on a date we print.

Pricing figures on tool pages carry a research date (verifiedAt), the vendor's own pricing URL, and a path to our breakdown. Those dates are when we checked the public page, not a bulk stamp from the CMS migration. The last full pass of the 10 pricing pages was 23 August 2026. The build fails a page whose quoted price is more than 12 months old.

When a vendor's own page disagrees with itself, we say so. Hello Bar's pricing URL still prints two lists; we budget from the hero cards and flag the table. We do not average the two numbers to make the page look tidy.

Reviewer language is G2's own wording, collected from G2 and labelled as such. We do not invent a star rating or a composite score. The site publishes written verdicts. A fabricated 4.6 is the category's usual trust problem, and we will not add one to look like a directory.

When a product leaves the set, the pages leave with it. Showit bought Sumo in December 2023 and relaunched it as BDOW! in April 2024. We retired the Sumo cluster rather than invent a BDOW tool. Old Sumo URLs 301 to /tools/ or the surviving product's alternatives page.

What are the editorial standards?

A claim about someone else's product has to be checkable on that product's own site, or it does not go on the page.

We do not fill a comparison table with features we have not seen documented. We do not write a "best popup builder 2026" trophy that names one winner for every job. We do not hide the date a price was checked.

If we got a figure wrong, write to hello@popupbuilder.io with the URL and the vendor page that contradicts us. Corrections land on the article, with the updatedAt date moved. We do not silently rewrite a number and leave the old date standing.

The comparison matrix is complete. There are 45 -vs- pages, plus 10 each of pricing, review and alternatives. {tool}/help/ and {tool}/integrations/ are tag archives, not product pages.

That set is the field we actually researched. We do not pretend to rank every popup app in the Shopify App Store or every WordPress plugin on wordpress.org. For scale: OptinMonster's WordPress plugin lists 1+ million active installs, and StoreCensus (23 August 2026) counts 274,598 Shopify stores on Klaviyo. Capture tools are not a niche. We cover the 10 we can compare fairly, not every listing in those catalogues.

How do you pick a winner?

We do not. Not as a house rule.

A Shopify merchant who wants capture and the follow-up email in one product will land on Privy more often than on a generic builder. A WordPress site that already treats popups as a conversion system, and will actually run split tests, is closer to OptinMonster. Stores that want a spin-to-win campaign without building the wheel themselves often start with OptiMonk. Teams that mainly need a top-of-page bar can stop at Hello Bar.

Popupsmart is in the set. It is a reasonable pick when you want a first campaign live the same afternoon. It is not the default #1 on every page, and it should not be.
