How to Integrate Hello Bar with Wix
Hello Bar on Wix is two different jobs. The app install is in Hello Bar installation Guide to Wix (24 February 2021). The snippet install is in How to Install Hello Bar Using the Wix Custom Code Embed (5 June 2024). Both vendor articles specify a Wix Premium plan and a connected domain. We checked these documents on September 5, 2026; we have not tested either path in a live Wix account.
Use one installation path. The older app instructions depend on widget availability; if the app is absent, review the documented Custom Code path and your account permissions. Do not install both as a troubleshooting shortcut.
How do you install the Hello Bar Wix app?
- In Hello Bar, copy your site ID from Installation Instructions.
- In Wix, go to Marketing and SEO → Marketing Integration.
- Click See All Apps, then See More Apps.
- Click Add under Hello Bar, paste the site ID, and save.
Hello Bar's article says the app widget is only available for some Wix site types. If you do not see Hello Bar in that list, use Custom Code.
How do you paste the snippet in Wix Custom Code?
- Copy the snippet from Hello Bar's installation instructions.
- Confirm the Wix site is published with a connected domain.
- Open Settings → Custom Code → Add Custom Code.
- Paste and name the snippet, choose page coverage and placement, then apply.
The guide lists placement options without prescribing a Hello Bar slot. Confirm that detail in your current installation instructions.
Verify page coverage and the visitor journey
Record whether the code applies to all pages or a selected set. Then test an included page and, when applicable, an excluded page. A campaign missing from an excluded page is not necessarily an installation failure.
| Check | Expected evidence |
|---|---|
| Correct site | The ID or snippet belongs to the intended Hello Bar property |
| Intended page | The published URL is included in the installation scope |
| Eligible visitor | The campaign's device, audience and trigger conditions match the test |
| Usable display | The visitor can dismiss the campaign and still reach page content |
| Working capture | A controlled signup reaches the intended contact destination |
Check a second page after navigating within the site as well as by opening its URL directly. Record what happened instead of assuming that one successful display proves every navigation path works.
Isolate a missing or duplicate campaign
If nothing appears, check the published URL, installation scope and campaign status before changing placement. If the campaign appears twice, inspect whether an app installation and a Custom Code entry are both present. Identify the active path before removing anything.
Keep the test URL, device, approximate time, chosen installation path and observed behavior in your notes. For a form, distinguish campaign display from contact delivery. A connection can load successfully while its downstream subscriber workflow still needs correction.
What we could not verify
- Whether the 2021 Marketing Integration UI still uses those exact labels in the 2026 Wix dashboard.
- Which Wix site types still get the native Hello Bar app.
- The required Custom Code slot (Head vs Body).
Vendor help: Wix app, Wix Custom Code. Product: Hello Bar.
Questions before you decide
Frequently asked questions
Can I add the Hello Bar snippet only to selected Wix pages?
The Custom Code guide offers all pages or selected pages. Match installation scope to the pages you intend to test.
Does the guide specify a required Head or Body placement?
It lists Head, Body-start and Body-end without choosing a required Hello Bar location. Confirm the current installation instructions instead of assuming a specific slot.
