How to Integrate Wisepops with ActiveCampaign

In Wisepops, click the sign-up form → Sync → ActiveCampaign. Paste the API URL as Endpoint and the Key from ActiveCampaign Settings → Developer. Pick the list. Save. Source: Sync your leads with ActiveCampaign (7 July 2026).

How do you connect ActiveCampaign?

  1. In ActiveCampaign, open Settings (gear) → Developer. Leave that tab open.

  2. In Wisepops, open the campaign and click the sign-up form.

  3. Left panel → SYNC → ActiveCampaign.

  4. Copy URL into Wisepops Endpoint, and Key into API key. Click Connect.

  5. Select the destination list. SMS lists show with an (SMS) suffix.

  6. Save the campaign. New completes land on that list.

What data syncs?

Mapped automatically: email, phone, first name, last name. Other fields use the Merge with dropdown, which lists fields that already exist in ActiveCampaign.

Tags: type the tag name and click create. Wisepops cannot fetch your full tag list. If the tag exists in ActiveCampaign, it reuses it. If not, it creates it.

Phone-only popups (no email) need Phone-only contacts enabled in ActiveCampaign first. Otherwise ActiveCampaign rejects the contact. See ActiveCampaign's own guide for that toggle.

Verify the received contact

Official setup documentation checked September 6, 2026. These checks are editorial recommendations, not a client test report.

Use a controlled submission on the published website and record the campaign, destination list and test time.

Check What to inspect
Destination Contact reaches the intended account and list.
Standard fields Collected name, email and phone values match the submission.
Custom fields Each configured mapping reaches its intended field.
Tags Expected spelling appears on the contact.
Channel Email or phone-only behavior matches the campaign’s intended signup path.

Test phone-only collection separately from email collection. A working email signup does not prove the additional phone-only setup is complete. Contact creation also does not prove eligibility for a message or entry into a particular automation.

Troubleshoot without losing the evidence

If nothing arrives, confirm the saved endpoint and destination account before changing mappings. If only a custom field is missing, inspect its selected destination and value format. If tags differ, compare the exact configured text.

For an existing contact, record the observed update behavior instead of assuming it will match a new-contact test. The integration article does not define every overwrite or repeat-submission outcome. Preserve any sync error and test time before retrying.

For further diagnosis, use the vendor’s synchronization troubleshooting guide. Keep API keys out of screenshots and handoff notes. Return to Wisepops integrations for other destinations.

Questions before you decide

Frequently asked questions

What extra setup is needed for a phone-only ActiveCampaign signup?

Wisepops says to enable ActiveCampaign’s Phone-only contacts option before syncing a popup without an email field. Then select the intended destination; SMS lists carry an SMS suffix.
