How to Integrate Wisepops with Klaviyo

Popup: click the sign-up form in WisepopsSync → Klaviyo → allow access → pick the list. Notifications use a private API key instead. Source: Sync your leads with Klaviyo (3 September 2025).

The 2023 steps said "sign up, no credit card, set targeting." That is not the integration. The integration is Sync (popups) or a private key (notifications).

Popups

  1. Log in to Wisepops.
  2. Open a campaign that has a sign-up form.
  3. Click the form → Sync.
choosing SYNC step on Wisepops dashboard for the integration
  1. Click the Klaviyo icon.
  2. In the new tab, allow Wisepops to access Klaviyo.
  3. Pick the list. Save.

Field mapping: Merge with for Klaviyo defaults, or type a custom name. Missing Klaviyo properties are created on sync. $source is set to WisePops so you can build a segment.

Notification campaigns

  1. In Klaviyo, create a private API key with: Accounts (read), Lists (full), Profiles (full), Segment (read), Subscriptions (full). Copy it.
  2. Wisepops notifications dashboard → Integrations → Klaviyo → Connect → paste the key.
  3. Open a sign-up notification → Sync. → enable the toggle → pick the list → save.

Why the counts don't match

Klaviyo double opt-in: Wisepops counts the submit, Klaviyo counts the confirmed subscriber. SMS: Wisepops will collect numbers from any country; Klaviyo will only send SMS where it is licensed.

If Klaviyo shows the source as Shopify, not Wisepops: you probably have the Klaviyo Shopify app. The lead hits Klaviyo, then Shopify, then Klaviyo again and overwrites $source. Fix: a hidden Wisepops field written to a custom Klaviyo property, or ask Wisepops support to turn off Wisepops → Shopify lead sync.
