How to connect Alia Popups with Omnisend
This setup summary follows Alia’s Omnisend documentation, checked 5 September 2026. It has not been tested in a live merchant account. Use the vendor article if the current interface differs.
What you need
Access to the correct Alia and Omnisend accounts, a test contact you control and a clear decision about which channel and welcome flow you are connecting. Keep integration credentials in the vendor’s authorized connection screen.
Documented connection steps
- Open Apps in Omnisend and find the Alia connection.
- Start the connection and obtain the API key provided for it.
- Open Alia’s Integrations area, select Omnisend and save that key.
- The vendor guide says subscribers sync without selecting a separate list.
Check the welcome setting and delivered data
Omnisend’s integration guide, dated 13 June 2026 and checked 6 September, adds a welcome-email choice when saving the key in Alia. Confirm the completed steps in Omnisend.
The guide lists email, phone number, consent, first name and the alia tag as transferable data. It also names Alia Poll Answer and Alia Reward Claimed as automation events. Check which event your campaign emits.
| Intended outcome | Evidence to inspect |
|---|---|
| Identify an Alia signup | The contact and its alia tag |
| Send a welcome message | Integration welcome setting and automation entry history |
| Follow up on a poll or reward | The relevant named event on the test contact |
The partner guide still describes lessons and tracks. Match its event guidance to the campaign type available in your account; do not recreate an older interface merely to follow the labels.
Verify the entire signup path
Submit a fresh test contact through the published popup. Confirm that the contact reaches the intended account, retains the expected consent state and enters the intended welcome sequence. Record the timestamp so you can distinguish the test from an earlier subscription.
If the connection saves but a new contact is absent, verify that the key belongs to the intended account and that the popup actually captured a new signup. Check the contact record before troubleshooting a downstream automation.
Separate capture, syncing and automation
Use three checkpoints when testing. First confirm the popup accepted the intended contact. Then find that contact in the correct Omnisend account. Finally inspect whether the expected automation admitted it. A failure at the third checkpoint does not establish that the API connection failed.
| Observation | Next diagnostic step |
|---|---|
| Connection cannot be saved | Confirm the key came from the intended account's Alia app connection and was copied completely |
| No contact appears after a test | Confirm the popup captured the signup and inspect the destination account before changing automation settings |
| Contact exists but no message arrives | Review the contact state and automation's entry requirements |
| A previously used test address behaves differently | Inspect its existing history and repeat with a fresh address you control |
| Duplicate welcome messages arrive | Identify each sending automation and the form or event that admitted the contact |
Record a repeatable acceptance check
Keep the campaign name, controlled test address, submission time and expected welcome sequence together. Record the actual contact state and message outcome separately. Do not include the API key in screenshots or troubleshooting notes.
The expected result is a traceable signup reaching the intended account and qualifying for the intended follow-up. The linked guides establish subscriber syncing and selected event behavior; they do not document every automation, historical-contact import or custom-field requirement. Verify any additional requirement in the account before treating it as supported.
Avoid duplicate welcome messages
Check whether another popup or signup form still feeds the same automation. Test one controlled path before changing the existing production form. A successful authorization screen does not establish that the downstream marketing workflow is correct.

Questions before you decide
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to select an Omnisend list in Alia?
No. Alia’s setup guide says new subscribers sync without a separate list selection. Check the destination contact and intended automation after connecting.
Where do I get the key for Alia’s Omnisend connection?
Open the Alia app entry in Omnisend and start its connection. The documented process provides the API key to save in Alia’s Omnisend integration.
Why does an Alia contact arrive without starting my Omnisend welcome flow?
Omnisend’s guide says to check the integration option for sending a welcome email. Our suggested next check is the test contact’s automation entry history. A contact arriving proves part of the handoff worked; it does not prove that the intended flow admitted that contact.
