How to Connect Social Media Page to Hello Bar?
Hello Bar has a dedicated social-page setup article, dated September 6, 2019 and checked September 5, 2026. It describes directing visitors to a social page through the Social Traffic goal. This is documentation-based guidance; the current account interface and available network list have not been tested here.
Prepare the destination
Open the exact public profile URL you want to promote. Check the account name, audience and whether visitors can reach it when signed out. Prefer the profile's public address over a temporary sharing link. Decide what the prompt should say so visitors know they are leaving your site.
Connect the profile
- Choose Social Traffic as the campaign goal.
- Under Design, open Social Profile.
- Remove the preloaded selection with its x control to see the available choices.
- Select the relevant network and enter its profile URL.
- Save and publish.
These labels follow the vendor article. If the current account does not expose them, confirm the supported path with Hello Bar before relying on an undocumented substitute. The article does not enumerate current networks or plan entitlements.
Verify the visitor journey
| Check | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Public destination | The URL opens the intended profile, not an account-management screen |
| Campaign copy | The network and destination match the promise made by the prompt |
| Desktop click | The destination opens correctly for a visitor outside the editor |
| Mobile click | The browser or app handoff reaches the intended account |
| Return to the site | Visitors can resume their original task without a confusing repeated prompt |
Use a controlled visit and record the page, device and destination reached. A successful editor save does not establish that a mobile app handoff or signed-out visitor experience works.
Diagnose a wrong or unavailable destination
If the click opens the wrong profile, compare the saved URL with the destination before changing the campaign's targeting. If it opens a sign-in screen, check whether the social platform itself requires login for the content. If the campaign does not appear at all, investigate publication and visitor eligibility separately from the link.
Do not treat clicks as follows, likes or qualified audience growth. Those are different outcomes, and this setup article does not establish that Hello Bar can verify a completed follow. Choose a measurement that matches the actual goal and avoid reporting a redirect as a new follower.
Documented limits
The vendor article establishes the profile-link workflow but does not confirm today's complete network list, an embedded follow widget, or Starter eligibility. Check those requirements in the selected account. See Hello Bar integrations for contact-sync workflows and Hello Bar pricing for plan research.
