Hello Bar Pricing

The short version

Hello Bar bills by popup views. Starter is $0 with 5,000 lifetime views. Growth is $39 a month billed yearly for 50,000 views. Premium is $69. Elite is $129. The vendor's own pricing page still prints a second, cheaper table. We used the hero cards.

Metered on popup views, not site pageviews. Hero cards on hellobar.com/pricing list Growth $39, Premium $69, Elite $129 billed annually. The feature table on the same page still prints $29/$49/$99.

CheckedAugust 2026Hello Bar’s own pricing page

Hello Bar bills by popup views, not by how many pages your site serves. Paid plans start at $39 a month when you pay yearly for Growth (50,000 views). Premium is $69. Elite is $129. Starter is $0, with a 5,000-view lifetime cap that does not refresh.

Those figures are the hero cards on hellobar.com/pricing as of 23 August 2026. A feature table on the same URL still lists $29 / $49 / $99. We did not use that table. Hello Bar's own March 2026 comparison post repeats $39 / $69 / $129.

The above-the-fold part of Hello Bar's pricing page

This page is independent. Hello Bar does not pay for it. Confirm the live checkout before you budget; the vendor's own site currently prints two lists.

What does each Hello Bar plan cost?

Plan Billed yearly Popup views Popups / subscribers Seats A/B tests Branding Support (vendor labels)
Starter $0 5,000 lifetime Unlimited 1 No Stays on Basic
Growth $39/mo 50,000 / month Unlimited 3 Unlimited Can remove Basic / "advanced-level"
Premium $69/mo 150,000 / month Unlimited Unlimited Unlimited Can remove Priority
Elite $129/mo 500,000 / month Unlimited Unlimited Unlimited Can remove Priority
Agency / Enterprise Custom Higher volume n/a n/a n/a n/a Dedicated (claimed)

Sources: hero cards and the feature grid on hellobar.com/pricing. Seats, A/B testing and "remove HB logo" come from that grid. Growth is limited to 3 seats. Starter is 1.

The page has a Pay Monthly / Pay Annually toggle and says yearly billing saves up to 24%. The monthly dollar amounts are behind that toggle and did not appear in the static markup, so they are unverified. Do not treat $39 / $69 / $129 as the month-to-month rate.

Contracts: the pricing page says none, and that you can cancel any time. No credit card for the free plan.

Why do two price lists exist on the same page?

Because the page was updated in pieces.

  • Hero cards: Elite $129, Premium $69, Growth $39, all "billed annually."
  • Feature table: Elite $99, Premium $49, Growth $29, also "billed annually."
  • Homepage subhead: "Plans from $29/month."
  • Support plan article, last edited 22 August 2023: Growth $29/mo or $289/year, Premium $49/mo or $499/year, Elite $99/mo or $999/year.

The 2023 article is the old annual bundle (two months free). The hero cards and the 2026 blog post are the current public list. If checkout still honours $29, that is a pleasant surprise, not what the cards promise.

Our 2023 write-up of this page quoted Growth at $29 monthly and $24 yearly. That yearly figure was already a conversion of the old list. It is wrong now.

What does "views" mean, and what happens if I go over?

A view is an impression of a Hello Bar unit. Site traffic that never sees a bar or a modal does not count. That is kinder than OptiMonk, which meters every page load on its pricing page, and harsher than a flat-fee tool.

Starter is the trap. The feature table says "5,000 [Lifetime]." The 2023 plan article says "5,000 non-renewing pop-up views in total." When you hit the cap, units stop until you pay. There is a support note on reactivating after 5,000 views.

Paid-plan overages, from the 18 September 2024 overage article:

Plan Included views / month Overage
Growth 50,000 $5 per extra 5,000 views
Premium 150,000 $5 per extra 10,000 views
Elite 500,000 $5 per extra 25,000 views

Example from that article: 55,000 views on Growth = $5 on top of the subscription, billed the next month. Past Elite, they ask you to email support@hellobar.com for a custom cap.

The older 2023 plan article quoted different overage buckets ($5 per 25k / 50k / 100k). We use the 2024 article.

What do you actually get as you move up?

From the public grid and the (partly stale) plan article:

Starter ($0). Builder, pre-built themes, unlimited units, basic targeting, basic email integrations, branding on, no A/B tests, 1 seat, email support. Fine as a trial. Bad as a production plan.

Growth ($39/mo yearly). 50,000 views, 3 seats, A/B tests, customisable targeting (device, geo, date/time, source), remove the Hello Bar logo, custom thank-you, "advanced" email integrations. The 2023 article also promised 90 days of in-app chat. We could not confirm that limit on the 2026 page.

Premium ($69/mo yearly). 150,000 views, unlimited seats, priority support, "premium" email integrations. This is the card they badge as most popular.

Elite ($129/mo yearly). 500,000 views, unlimited seats, priority support. The 2023 article reserved HubSpot, Salesforce, Intercom, Maropost, Iterable and webhooks for Elite. The 2026 integrations directory lists those tools without a plan badge. Treat Elite as the safe assumption for HubSpot/Salesforce until checkout says otherwise.

Agency / Enterprise. Custom quote for multi-site and higher volume. No public numbers.

All paid plans claim GDPR tooling. Hello Bar's FAQ says you still own the compliance work.

How does that compare with the rest of the field?

Tool Entry paid price (23 Aug 2026) Meter Free plan
Hello Bar $39/mo yearly (50k popup views) Popup views Yes, 5k lifetime
OptiMonk $19/mo yearly (20k site pageviews) Site pageviews Yes, 10k / month, unbranded
Mailmunch $13.99/mo yearly (1,000 contacts) Subscribers Yes
OptinMonster $7/mo intro, $210/year at renewal (2,500 impressions) Campaign impressions No (WordPress plugin has a limited free path)
Adoric $100/mo Basic (300k pageviews) Pageviews Vendor says "start for free"
Sleeknote €49/mo yearly (0–25k visitors) Unique visitors 14-day trial only
Wisepops From €499/mo Demo-gated 14-day trial; pricing not on the page

Hello Bar is no longer the cheap option against OptiMonk or Mailmunch. It is still cheaper than Adoric, Sleeknote and Wisepops. The honest buy is: you want a bar, you already have an ESP, and $39/year-billed is fine.

What we could not verify

  • Month-to-month prices on the 2026 toggle.
  • Whether HubSpot, Salesforce and webhooks still sit on Elite.
  • Whether Growth still includes only 90 days of chat.
  • Whether the stale $29 / $49 / $99 table is honoured at checkout for anyone.
  • Agency/Enterprise rates.

If a figure is not on hellobar.com/pricing or in a dated support article, it is not on this page.
