Who each one is for

Start with your use case, then weigh the strengths and limitations that matter to your site.

Consider Wisepops for

Ecommerce teams that want a strategist running popups, bars, quizzes, feed and web push, and will pay from a few hundred dollars a month.

  • Six on-site channels in one campaign model, not just popups
  • Targeting still among the most detailed in this field
  • Shopify listing publishes a $299 plan with a 14-day trial
  • A/B tests can use a holdout group and auto-conclude at 95%

Watch for these limitations

  • No public price grid on wisepops.com; most plans need a demo call
  • Self-serve is Shopify-only; other CMSs go through sales
  • Pageview metering plus extra-site fees get expensive at scale
  • No free plan, only a 14-day trial

Consider Hello Bar for

Sites that need focused bars, popups or inline campaigns and already have an email or CRM platform for follow-up.

  • Current grid lists bars, slide-ins, overlays, inline units, video and gamified campaigns
  • Paid plans list customizable targeting and unlimited A/B tests
  • Pricing FAQ names common email platforms and Zapier on every plan
  • Regular paid allowances are defined per website property

Watch for these limitations

  • Starter's 5,000 displayed views are lifetime rather than monthly
  • The current pricing page shows two conflicting paid price sets
  • Current quota-pause guidance conflicts with an older overage article
  • Advanced webhooks and deeper CRM connections are listed for Premium and Elite

Hello Bar Growth costs $348 annually for 50,000 monthly popup views. Wisepops presents Shopify self-service separately from an offering with strategist support and business reviews. Compare the selected channels, allowance and operating work rather than assuming a bar-versus-campaign-system divide.

How should the campaign scope be defined?

List the formats and audiences you intend to launch. Wisepops presents six on-site channels, but not every project needs all six. Hello Bar supports more than header strips, so the product name does not establish its suitability for a popup brief.

Assign a purpose to each message and test timing, overlap and dismissal. A welcome offer and a returning-customer announcement should not automatically repeat the same incentive. Validate the required game or form fields in the selected plan rather than choosing from a channel count alone.

Which services are included in the price?

Wisepops distinguishes Shopify self-service from strategist support and business reviews. Request the actual audit, campaign-build and review schedule in a service proposal. Public descriptions of review timing differ, so do not assume one cadence for every contract.

Compare those deliverables with the work your team would perform in Hello Bar. Identify who writes copy, approves changes, checks integrations and reviews results. A subscription price alone does not establish saved agency hours or a managed conversion program.

How should traffic and free limits be compared?

Website pageviews and popup views are different units. A page load may produce no campaign display or more than one, depending on targeting and frequency. Forecast both metrics and confirm account definitions before comparing numeric allowances.

Hello Bar Starter includes 5,000 lifetime views, not a monthly reset. At 500 views daily, that would last approximately ten days; this is a planning example, not measured usage. Growth instead includes 50,000 monthly views. Its current pricing FAQ describes paid campaigns pausing at the allowance until reset or upgrade.

Obtain the selected Wisepops allocation and over-limit terms separately. Assign an owner to usage checks before a promotion rather than discovering a capacity limit during the launch.

How should integration depth be tested?

Hello Bar lists basic Mailchimp, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, GetResponse, ConvertKit and Zapier connections across plans. Deeper CRM connections and custom webhooks require Premium or Elite. Confirm the required tier before comparing Growth with a custom-data workflow.

Wisepops describes both sending leads to Klaviyo and using Klaviyo segments for targeting. These are different data directions. For either product, specify the audience source, destination, fields and event. Test a new lead, existing contact and excluded visitor separately.

What should the experiment demonstrate?

Define the success event, eligible audience and reporting window before launch. Comparing two creative variants and comparing campaign exposure with no campaign answer different questions. Confirm which design the selected tool supports before treating a reported conversion rate as incremental revenue.

These are measurement criteria, not a claim that we ran a controlled experiment or established a performance winner. Verify the configuration and data flow as part of the trial.

Choose Hello Bar when its selected allowance and required connections fit the campaign brief. Evaluate Wisepops when its channels or explicitly contracted services address work you need. Use the actual quote and workflow rather than assuming either product is automatically too simple or too expensive.

Questions before you decide

Frequently asked questions

Does Wisepops self-service include managed campaigns?

The homepage separates Shopify self-service from strategist support and business reviews. Obtain the campaign-build, audit and review schedule in the proposal before assuming these tasks are included in a software subscription.

Do Hello Bar Starter views renew monthly?

No. Starter lists 5,000 lifetime views. At 500 displays daily that would last around ten days, as a planning example. Paid Growth instead lists 50,000 monthly popup views.

Which Hello Bar tier supports custom webhooks?

The pricing table reserves custom webhooks for Premium and Elite. Premium is $588 annually at the checked rate. Compare the exact destination, fields and event with the selected Wisepops workflow rather than assuming a basic email connector is equivalent.

Are pageviews and popup views the same unit?

No. Campaign targeting and frequency can cause page activity and display counts to differ. Forecast both and confirm account definitions before comparing Wisepops pageview capacity with Hello Bar popup views.
