Can I Share Access to My Account on Poptin?

Emel DalabasmazUpdated September 6, 20262 min read

Poptin documents two access paths: a paid account can share with an existing Poptin account, while an Agency account can create a new user assigned to a subaccount. Choose the path based on whether the recipient already has a Poptin login and what they need to access.

Source: Poptin’s account-access guide, updated August 3, 2026 and checked September 6, 2026 using a fresh source capture. The access checks below are editorial recommendations.

Choose the access path

Situation Documented path Check before proceeding
Recipient already has a Poptin account Shared Account from a paid account Use the email associated with that login.
Create a new login for an assigned subaccount User on the Agency plan The email must not already have a Poptin account.

Share with an existing account

Open My Account → Users & Access, then the Users & Access button. Enter the recipient’s name and existing Poptin email, then choose Add User.

Create an Agency user

Choose User, enter the name, email and a password, select the intended subaccount and choose Add User. The guide says an email notification is sent, but the creator must separately provide the password. Use a unique password for this new user and a private transfer method; do not share your own account password.

Verify the recipient’s access

Before inviting someone, record the intended account or subaccount and the work they need to perform. After setup, have the recipient verify the result using their own login.

  • Correct workspace: Confirm the displayed account or subaccount belongs to the intended brand.
  • Required content: Confirm the relevant campaign is visible before handing over a task.
  • Required action: Check the control needed for the job without making a live change just to prove access.
  • Unexpected visibility: If other client material is visible, investigate the assignment before continuing the handoff.

The cited article does not provide a full role matrix or specify every billing and editing restriction. Do not promise a read-only role or complete client isolation from the path’s name alone. Confirm the actual permissions required for your workflow.

Troubleshoot an unsuccessful setup

If an email is rejected, compare its existing-account status with the chosen path. If the recipient can sign in but cannot find a campaign, compare the assigned subaccount and the campaign’s location. If the needed access control is absent, check current entitlement with Poptin before purchasing a different plan.

Keep a record of who received access, the assignment and who will review it when the work ends. Store credentials separately from that record. This guide describes account access; lead-notification recipients are a different setting.

Questions before you decide

Frequently asked questions

Can a paid account share access with someone who has a Free Poptin account?

Yes. The guide says the receiving account may be Free when a paid account grants shared access. That does not establish that a Free account can itself grant the same access.
