How to Integrate Popupsmart with Zapier

Use Zapier to send Popupsmart form data to a destination app. Verify the trigger sample, action result and a new live submission separately before considering the workflow ready.

Source: Popupsmart’s official setup guide, checked September 6, 2026. The checks below are editorial recommendations, not client implementation results.

Set up the connection

  1. On a campaign’s form element, choose Add integration → Zapier → Connect and copy the connection API key.
  2. Publish the campaign on a verified website and submit a test entry you control.
  3. Create a Zap with Popupsmart as the trigger app. Connect using the key, select the intended campaign and test the trigger.
  4. Connect the destination app, map the sample fields and test the action.
  5. Check the actual destination record, then publish and turn on the Zap.

Keep API keys in the connection setup and out of shared screenshots. Review any downstream messages or other actions before sending a test.

Verify the workflow

Stage Evidence to inspect If the result differs
Trigger sample Your test address and intended campaign Check the selected account, campaign and prior submission.
Action mapping Each destination field uses the intended sample value Correct individual mappings before rerunning the action.
Destination record The actual row or contact in the intended account Recheck destination selection and action errors.
Live submission A fresh controlled submission reaches the destination after activation Inspect workflow status and available run details.

A sample from an older submission can make mapping look correct while missing a newly added field. After changing the form, use a sample that includes the fields you now expect. Record which sample you used.

Before replaying a failed action, check whether the destination already received a record. A retry may repeat an operation; the cited setup guide does not establish a universal duplicate-prevention or delivery-time guarantee.

Keep a handoff record

Record the campaign, destination, test time and result at each stage. Save connection names rather than keys. Check the account’s available automation capacity before launch; this setup guide does not establish your plan’s task allowance.

For a destination-specific example, see Sendloop via Zapier. Compare available native integrations against your required fields and workflow before adding an automation layer.

Questions before you decide

Frequently asked questions

Why does the Zapier trigger test need a prior form submission?

Popupsmart’s guide explicitly asks you to publish the campaign and fill in its form before testing the Zap. This provides data for the trigger test; confirm you selected the campaign containing that submission.
