How Can I Verify My Website with Popupsmart?
A Popupsmart popup will not show until the domain is verified. Embed the code once, add the website, click Unverified, open the site, then Refresh. You can also verify from the campaign Publish step.
Vendor source: How to verify your website, checked September 6, 2026. This is documentation-based guidance, not a live verification test. An unverified status is a starting point for diagnosis, not proof of a particular cause.
How do I add and verify a domain?
-
Embed the unique code first. Embed-code steps.
-
Dashboard → Account (bottom left) → Websites.
-
New website, paste the URL, Save.
-
The row shows Unverified. Click it.
-
Verify website opens your site in a new tab. Go back to Popupsmart and click Refresh. The row should read Verified.
Can I verify from the campaign instead?
Yes. On Publish, if you see "Your website not verified yet," click Verify website, then Refresh. Same check, later in the flow.
Diagnose the failed checkpoint
| Checkpoint | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Saved website | The entered address matches the intended published site |
| Live installation | The actual page receives the expected snippet |
| Publication | Template or tag-manager changes reached production |
| Script execution | Loading conditions and browser errors do not explain the failure |
| Verification refresh | The verification visit completed before refreshing status |
If a cache serves old page content, use the site's normal refresh process and recheck the live page. Do not assume a delay, duplicate script or hostname variation is the cause without inspecting it. The account status alone does not identify the failing layer.
Confirm campaign behavior after verification
Once the site is verified, test a published campaign using the intended page, device and audience conditions. Verify display, dismissal and any lead destination separately. A verified website does not establish that every campaign should appear for every visitor.
Keep the website URL, installation method, approximate test time and observed status in your notes. If the problem remains, share those details with support rather than repeatedly adding domains or pasting another copy of the snippet.
For Shopify, follow the platform-specific guide so you do not mix installation methods. Check pricing for the selected website allowance.
Questions before you decide
Frequently asked questions
Can I verify the website from the campaign Publish step?
Yes. The guide describes opening Verify website from the Publish alert, visiting the site and returning to Popupsmart to refresh the status.
Does saving a website URL replace installing Popupsmart’s code?
No. The guide treats embedding the code and verifying the website as separate requirements. Confirm the live installation before relying on verification.
