How to Integrate Popupsmart with Shopify
Install Popupsmart’s Shopify app, create a campaign and verify it on the published storefront. Treat installation, popup display and lead delivery as three separate checks: success at one stage does not prove the next.

Prepare the store
Confirm which Shopify store you are editing and whether Popupsmart is already installed through an app or manual code. Record the existing setup before adding another installation. Prepare the offer, intended audience and destination for any form data.
Install and create a campaign
- Open the Popupsmart Shopify listing, choose Install and review the requested permissions.
- The vendor says installation creates a Popupsmart account linked to the logged-in store and imports store fonts and colors.
- On Overview, choose Create first campaign, then select a goal and use case.
- Customize the design. Use the pencil icon to open the Advanced Editor when you need additional elements or multi-step forms.
- Choose Save & Next to Segment, review the settings and publish when ready.
Verify the published storefront
Use a narrow mobile screen and desktop. Record the page and conditions used for each check so another person can reproduce the result.
| Check | Expected result | If it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Store and campaign | The intended campaign appears on the correct storefront | Check the connected store, published campaign and active status. |
| Audience | Included visitors qualify and excluded pages do not | Review segment conditions before changing the design. |
| Readability | Headline, offer and button fit; the close control is usable | Check imported typography and mobile layout. |
| Form | A controlled test entry submits and reaches its destination | Inspect the form and integration separately from installation. |
| Product content, if used | The displayed products match the configured source | Check the source selection and the test visitor’s context. |
If a campaign uses cart-dependent content, test with both an empty cart and a cart containing a relevant item. Do not assume one preview represents every visitor. If it offers a discount, verify the actual offer conditions before inviting customers to use it.
Troubleshoot an absent or repeated popup
If nothing appears, confirm the campaign was published and that your test visit satisfies its audience and behavior conditions. Inspect the actual storefront rather than relying only on the app preview. A display failure does not automatically mean installation failed.
If multiple popups appear, identify the campaign behind each one and inspect other active popup tools or prior installations. Do not assume that an app plus a snippet always produces two overlays, or delete code before identifying what it belongs to.
For an existing manual web-app installation, consult the embed-code guide and confirm your migration approach with Popupsmart before adding a second installation method. This tutorial follows the documented Shopify app flow.
Confirm lead delivery separately
Submit an address you control, then inspect the intended destination and its subscription state. A popup success message does not prove that an email automation ran. If Klaviyo is your destination, follow the Popupsmart–Klaviyo guide and verify the received profile and list.
Record the store, campaign, test device, destination and outcome before handing the setup to another team member. Keep unresolved behavior visible in that record rather than marking the campaign ready solely because it published.
Questions before you decide
Frequently asked questions
Where can I add a multi-step form in the Shopify app?
The vendor directs users to the Advanced Editor for multi-step forms and additional elements. Open it using the pencil icon on the design screen.
