Compare Privy displays with Alia for capture, Privy email/SMS for sending, or Alia connected to Privy when both roles are needed.
This is a source-based comparison, not a hands-on performance benchmark. Alia documentation was checked on 5 September 2026. Privy’s pricing and integration directory were also checked on 5 September 2026. They document a display-only option and an Alia-to-Privy connection, so the choice is not limited to replacing the whole marketing stack.
Are you replacing the popup or the marketing stack?
Privy combines on-site capture with email and SMS products. Alia is better assessed as a capture layer connected to a sending platform. A merchant already invested in a sending platform should compare Alia with Privy’s display-only offering before assuming an email migration is necessary. Count the required connector fields and automation changes, not just subscription entry prices.
A merchant starting from scratch may prefer evaluating an integrated bundle. In that case, compare the number of contacts, sending requirements, SMS costs and popup limits for the whole planned workflow. A displays-only plan is not the same purchase as an email plan.
What should you compare on price?
Alia’s Shopify listing starts at $100/month for 20,000 visitors, but its website shows a different Basic offer. The card above identifies the listing basis and the discrepancy. Confirm the actual charge before deciding which product is cheaper.
The Privy pricing page lists displays from $24/month, billed by monthly pageviews, and email from $30/month, billed by mailable contacts, with 250 SMS credits included. Unlimited email sends does not mean unlimited SMS. These are starting figures; record the selected pageview, contact and credit bands before comparing total cost.
Can Alia and Privy work together?
Yes: Privy’s integration directory describes contacts, discounts and mini-quiz responses flowing from Alia into Privy. This supports a third option: use Alia for capture and Privy for follow-up. The directory establishes the documented direction, not every field or two-way synchronization behavior.
| Requirement | What to evaluate | Acceptance check |
|---|---|---|
| Keep the existing email platform | Alia capture or Privy displays | A new contact reaches the intended list with the required properties |
| Use one product for capture and sending | Privy’s combined offering | A display, segment and welcome flow work together within the selected allowances |
| Use Alia capture with Privy follow-up | Alia-to-Privy connection | Discount and mini-quiz values appear on the Privy contact and in the intended follow-up |
Choose one owner for the welcome message. If both systems are configured to respond to a submission, investigate duplicate delivery before launching. Test an existing subscriber as well as a fresh address; a new-contact success does not establish how updates or repeated submissions behave.
How would we run a fair evaluation?
Use the same offer, audience and destination workflow. Record the traffic period and any other store changes. Verify that a fresh test signup reaches the intended list and receives the intended follow-up before using submission counts to judge either product.
Compare confirmed new subscribers and store outcomes against the total ongoing cost. Include discounts and staff time. A higher signup rate is not automatically a profitable improvement, and vendor case studies do not establish the result your store will achieve.
Which should you shortlist?
Compare Privy displays with Alia for capture, Privy email/SMS for sending, or Alia connected to Privy when both roles are needed.
Start with the requirement described above, then inspect the controls needed to meet it. If neither product has a confirmed plan and installation path that fits, expand the shortlist through Alia alternatives or Privy alternatives.

Questions before you decide
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Alia Popups and Privy together?
Yes. Privy’s directory describes transferring Alia contacts, discounts and mini-quiz responses into Privy. Test those values on a contact before using them in a segment or message. This is a documented workflow, not evidence that every property synchronizes in both directions.
Do I have to replace my email platform to choose Privy over Alia?
No. Privy offers Pop-ups & Displays separately and describes syncing to selected external platforms. Compare that offering with Alia when capture is the only requirement; compare Privy email and SMS only when sending is also part of the decision.
Can I compare Alia’s visitor tier directly with Privy’s display tier?
Not as equal units. Privy’s display pricing uses monthly pageviews, while the Alia offer discussed on this page uses visitors. Forecast both site traffic and the selected product allowance, then compare the actual quotes rather than treating two equally sized numbers as equal capacity.
What should I test when Alia captures leads for Privy?
Submit a fresh lead and inspect the discount and quiz properties in Privy, then verify the welcome message. Repeat with an existing contact and decide which system owns follow-up. The integration listing supports this test plan but does not establish your account’s duplicate-handling behavior.
