Who each one is for

Start with your use case, then weigh the strengths and limitations that matter to your site.

Consider OptinMonster for

Content and WordPress sites that will pay Pro for Exit-Intent and actually run split tests.

  • WordPress plugin still listed at 1+ million active installs
  • A/B testing starts on Plus rather than the top plan
  • Native Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot and Constant Contact connectors
  • Exit-Intent is the reason most buyers pick Pro

Watch for these limitations

  • No free plan; refunds only within 14 days of a first purchase
  • Exit-Intent starts on Pro; the current plan cards list Shopify and WooCommerce integrations on Growth
  • Intro rates jump to full price on renewal
  • G2 reviews still call out price and the visual editor

Consider Wisepops for

Ecommerce teams that want a strategist running popups, bars, quizzes, feed and web push, and will pay from a few hundred dollars a month.

  • Six on-site channels in one campaign model, not just popups
  • Targeting still among the most detailed in this field
  • Shopify listing publishes a $299 plan with a 14-day trial
  • A/B tests can use a holdout group and auto-conclude at 95%

Watch for these limitations

  • No public price grid on wisepops.com; most plans need a demo call
  • Self-serve is Shopify-only; other CMSs go through sales
  • Pageview metering plus extra-site fees get expensive at scale
  • No free plan, only a 14-day trial

Jump to a topic

OptinMonster uses feature tiers and introductory annual pricing. Wisepops presents Shopify self-service separately from an offer with strategist support and business reviews. Compare the campaign requirements, traffic allowance and operating work before treating the two starting prices as substitutes.

Which OptinMonster price belongs in the comparison?

Use the tier required by the campaign. Basic is not an A/B-testing quote; Plus introduces testing, while Pro is relevant for Exit-Intent and webhooks. Check Growth when the brief needs its ecommerce controls. A low introductory headline does not describe every implementation.

For a two-year budget, Plus totals $798 from $228 initially and $570 on renewal. Pro totals $1,218 from $348 and $870. These calculations assume the listed rates remain applicable. Compare them with the selected Wisepops offer over the same period, in the same currency, with equivalent traffic and service scope.

What services are actually included?

Wisepops separates Shopify self-service from strategist support and business reviews. Do not assume a platform subscription includes campaign production, an audit or recurring reviews. Record those deliverables in the proposal.

Its homepage uses different descriptions of review timing, so obtain the agreed schedule before estimating how much internal work the service replaces. Identify who writes copy, builds campaigns, validates data and approves changes. Compare that workload with the team time needed to operate OptinMonster rather than inventing a saving in agency hours.

Does the project need several channels?

Wisepops presents popups, embeds, feed, bars, quizzes and web push. List the channels you intend to launch and give each a separate purpose. More channels also require coordination of audience exclusions, frequency and message timing.

For example, a welcome popup and a returning-customer notification should not automatically repeat the same offer. Test overlap and dismissal across the intended journey. Choose the product scope that meets that journey instead of assuming a larger channel list guarantees a better result.

How should traffic and integrations be checked?

OptinMonster campaign impressions and Wisepops pageviews are different units. Forecast site activity and campaign exposure separately; a page load does not establish how many campaigns a visitor sees. Confirm account counting rules and over-limit terms in the selected offers.

For integrations, distinguish exporting a lead from using external customer data for targeting. Wisepops describes Klaviyo lead export and segment targeting as separate flows. For either tool, specify the required fields, audience source and triggering event. Test a new lead, existing subscriber and excluded customer before accepting a connector label as proof of the whole workflow.

How should you choose?

Evaluate OptinMonster when its required controls and renewal commitment fit your capture brief and operating team. Evaluate Wisepops when its required channels or explicitly contracted services address a need you have identified. In both cases, record the selected allowance, implementation responsibilities and ongoing cost.

These are buying and validation criteria, not results from a controlled product experiment. A public checkout, sales call or historical plugin count does not establish which implementation is right for your site.

Questions before you decide

Frequently asked questions

Is OptinMonster Basic the right quote for A/B testing?

No. Testing starts on Plus, at $228 for the introductory year and $570 on renewal. Pro is relevant for Exit-Intent and webhooks. Compare the required tier with the Wisepops offer that meets the same campaign and traffic requirements.

Does Wisepops self-service include a strategist?

The homepage separates Shopify self-service from the offering with strategist support and business reviews. Confirm the actual deliverables and review schedule in the proposal before comparing it with OptinMonster plus internal operating time.

How much do two years of OptinMonster Pro cost at the checked rates?

The $348 introductory year plus $870 renewal total $1,218. This assumes the listed rates remain applicable and is not a guarantee. Compare the selected Wisepops offer over the same period and currency, including traffic and contracted services.

Are OptinMonster impressions and Wisepops pageviews interchangeable?

No. Website activity and campaign exposure can differ, particularly with repeat visits and multiple campaigns. Forecast both and confirm the account counting rules before comparing the selected allowances.
