OptinMonster Basic is $7 a month billed annually for the first year, then $210 a year. Exit-Intent starts on Pro at $29 a month intro, $870 to renew. There is no free plan. Figures taken from optinmonster.com/pricing on 23 August 2026. Monthly billing is listed separately at optinmonster.com/pricing/monthly.

How much does OptinMonster cost?
Four plans. Names are still Basic, Plus, Pro and Growth. They have not been rebranded.
The public annual page was running a 60% off intro for 12 months on 23 August 2026. The small print on that page is the part that matters: "Special introductory pricing, all renewals are at full price."
| Plan | Intro / month (annual) | Year-one total | Full-price year | Monthly billing | Sites | Impressions / month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $7 | $84 | $210 | $21 | 1 | 2,500 |
| Plus | $19 | $228 | $570 | $57 | 2 | 10,000 |
| Pro | $29 | $348 | $870 | $87 | 3 | 25,000 |
| Growth | $49 | $588 | $1,470 | $147 | 5 | 100,000 |
Intro math checks out against the "Normally $X | Save $Y" lines on the same page. Basic: $210 − $126 = $84. Plus: $570 − $342 = $228. Pro: $870 − $522 = $348. Growth: $1,470 − $882 = $588.
New accounts are billed annually by default. Monthly exists if you want an out. The vendor says annual is "50% less than monthly." $210 vs $21 × 12 = $252 is a smaller gap than 50% once you are off intro. Year one of annual Basic vs monthly Basic is $84 vs $252.
Enterprise is custom. optinmonster.com/enterprise is the quote form. SSO with Okta is listed as an Enterprise option.
What is an OptinMonster impression?
Not a website pageview. The pricing FAQ defines an impression as any time a visitor sees a campaign. Two campaigns on one pageview can count as two impressions.
The same FAQ says campaigns are not turned off if you blow the cap. OptinMonster says it will upgrade you to the next tier when that happens, or move you to a custom plan above Growth. We have not independently confirmed the auto-upgrade behaviour.
Vendor advice is to pick a plan with 20–30% more impressions than your site pageviews so a sitewide exit campaign plus a few targeted ones still fit.
Which plan actually has Exit-Intent?
Pro. Not Basic. Not Plus.
That is the gate that makes the $7 Basic plan a decoy for anyone who clicked through from an "exit popup" article. The annual page labels Exit-Intent as "MUST HAVE" on Pro. Countdown timers, Smart Tags, referrer targeting, Zapier, webhooks, Google Analytics, two sub-accounts and the option to remove the badge also start there.
Plus is the A/B testing floor: device targeting, content locking, MonsterEffects, Yes/No forms, full analytics.
Growth is the store floor: geolocation, new vs returning, OnSite Retargeting, follow-up campaigns, coupon wheels, custom branding, unlimited sub-accounts, and the Shopify / WooCommerce / Magento / Easy Digital Downloads / MemberPress connectors.
Basic is form types, 700+ templates, page targeting, time-on-site, scroll triggers, MonsterLeads and the basic ESP list. Fine for one small site that only needs an inline form.
Does OptinMonster have a free plan or a trial?
No free plan. No free trial on the public pages we checked.
The risk reducer is a 14-day money-back window on first-time purchases, described on the pricing page and in the refund docs. Renewals are not eligible. Canceling the subscription does not file the refund. You have to submit a ticket. Step-by-step: how to ask for a refund.
Live human support is listed on every plan. Live chat is the thing that moves up with Pro and Growth. Basic and Plus are email.
How does OptinMonster pricing compare to other popup tools?
Against tools on this site, OptinMonster is the one that looks cheap in month one and expensive in month 13, with the useful features parked on Pro and Growth.
| Tool | Public entry | Free tier | Exit-intent | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OptinMonster | $7/mo intro annual, $210 to renew | None | Pro+ | Checked 23 Aug 2026 on optinmonster.com/pricing |
| Poptin | Free plan, then paid | Free plan | Paid | Better G2 score, smaller sample |
| Popupsmart | Paid from the Basic plan | Free plan | Paid | Pageview-metered |
| OptiMonk | Paid Essential | Free plan | Paid | Gamified campaigns without Growth |
| Privy | Paid Starter, contact-metered | Free plan | Paid | Shopify email + SMS in one product |
| Hello Bar | Paid Growth | Trial | Limited | A bar, not a campaign suite |
| Wisepops | Last public rate withdrawn | Unknown | Paid | Pricing page now a demo form |
Poptin is the one we would try first if the only problem with OptinMonster is the bill. OptiMonk if you want a wheel without Growth. Privy if you are on Shopify and want the email tool attached. Full comparisons: OptinMonster vs Poptin, OptinMonster vs Privy, OptinMonster alternatives.
