OptiMonk bills on monthly site pageviews, not campaign impressions. A free plan covers 10,000 pageviews on one domain. Paid plans start at $29 a month for Essential, or $19 a month if you pay a year up front, according to OptiMonk's pricing page (annual starting offers rechecked 6 September 2026). The Shopify app listing also checked 6 September 2026, lists starting monthly rates: Essential $29, Growth $99, Premium $249.
Choose an allowance using expected site traffic, including planned promotions. A lower advertised monthly equivalent does not mean a smaller upfront annual payment.

Annual savings against monthly: about 34% on Essential, 30% on Growth, 28% on Premium. OptiMonk's public page advertises "Yearly SAVE 25%" as a round figure; the Shopify listing is more precise.
Pageview and domain allowances determine the listed tiers. OptiMonk’s FAQ describes unlimited campaigns and users on paid plans and removal of its branding. Confirm any required feature or service separately; these statements do not establish that every capability is identical across tiers.
How OptiMonk counts a pageview
A pageview is any page load on a domain with the OptiMonk snippet, even if no campaign fires. It is not an impression.
For example, a store with 200,000 site pageviews does not reduce that allowance requirement by showing a popup to only a small audience. This is a budgeting illustration, not a measurement from a customer account.
OptiMonk emails you at 80% of the cap and again at 100%. Campaigns then stop until the first of the next month, or you upgrade and pay the prorated difference. That behaviour is spelled out in OptiMonk's FAQ.
What you actually get on Free
The free plan can support an initial campaign evaluation within 10,000 pageviews and one domain, with the OptiMonk logo visible. The vendor FAQ describes broad free access, but that wording alone does not verify every feature’s availability in the current account. Before relying on Free, build the required campaign, inspect testing access and confirm that the intended destination connection works.
Consider Free when the domain limit, visible branding and traffic allowance fit. Leave room for a promotion or seasonal traffic increase before relying on it for an entire month.
For branding, the FAQ explicitly distinguishes Free from paid plans. The Shopify listing places Key Account Manager under Premium. Confirm any service requirement with the vendor before choosing a plan.
Essential, Growth and Premium
Essential is the first paid rung. $29 a month (or $228 a year) for 20,000 pageviews and two domains. If you select a larger pageview step, record its actual price; the starting offer does not establish the cost of that step.
Growth starts at 100,000 pageviews and four domains. For a store forecasting 60,000 to 90,000 pageviews, compare the available allowance and quoted total against its peak forecast. Do not calculate a price increase from Essential’s starting price when a different Essential allowance is selected.
Premium is the high-traffic self-serve tier: 500,000 pageviews, ten domains, $249 a month. The Shopify listing is the only source that clearly parks Key Account Manager on this plan.
Master is a sales call. Unlimited domains, a custom pageview cap, no public number.
OptiMonk vs two other meters
| Tool | Allowance to forecast | Pricing detail to verify |
|---|---|---|
| OptiMonk | Whole-site pageviews and domains | Selected pageview step, payment period and any required service |
| Popupsmart | Site pageviews and sites | Required plan, campaign limits and amount due for the selected term |
| OptinMonster | Campaign impressions and sites | Required feature tier, introductory annual payment and renewal amount |
Use each tool's own billing counter for the same proposed campaign. A 100,000-impression allowance is not equivalent to 100,000 site pageviews: repeated exposures and pages without campaigns can change the relationship. Use your traffic and display forecast rather than a conversion factor assumed from another store.
The linked pricing guides separate source dates and payment terms. Compare the selected offers, including the upfront payment and renewal conditions; a low advertised monthly equivalent alone does not identify the lowest-cost fit.
Annual commitment and cancellation
You pay a year up front. Essential is $228, Growth $828, Premium $2,148. The public page frames those as $19 / $69 / $179 a month. Cancel from the account menu (Profile → Subscription → Downgrade to Free). After you cancel, the account stays on Free with no expiry. The published policy provides a 14-day first-payment refund window. It does not establish the outcome of every request outside that window; check the policy and contact support for your case. See how to cancel and the refund policy.
Compare the cost of your actual rollout
Before selecting a plan, save these details with the campaign brief:
| Decision | What to record | Why it changes the comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Traffic allowance | Normal month, promotion forecast and selected pageview step | Starting prices may not cover the selected allowance |
| Website coverage | Domains that need campaigns | Enough traffic capacity does not establish enough domain capacity |
| Payment timing | Amount due now and billing period | An annual monthly equivalent is not a monthly instalment |
| Required workflow | Targeting, testing and destination requirements | A low price is useful only if the planned workflow works |
| Quota response | Alert recipient and upgrade decision owner | A campaign pause during a promotion has an operational cost |
These are suggested buying checks, not a measured return-on-investment claim. Use the OptiMonk vs OptinMonster comparison for a closer look at the different billing meters.
Budget for the traffic spike before the discount
A worked example: a store expecting 16,000 pageviews in a normal month fits inside the starting 20,000-pageview Essential allowance. If its planned promotion doubles traffic to 32,000 pageviews, that allowance no longer fits. Showing the popup to only a quarter of visitors does not change that calculation.
OptiMonk lists additional 30,000 and 50,000 steps within Essential. Request or select the actual 50,000-step price before committing; the advertised starting price does not establish what that larger allowance costs. For an agency, save the chosen domain count, pageview step, annual cash commitment and person responsible for quota alerts together in the client handover.
The pricing page, checked 6 September 2026, exposes annual starting totals of $228 for Essential, $828 for Growth and $2,148 for Premium. This source check confirms those annual starting offers, not every slider price or checkout condition.
Questions before you decide
Frequently asked questions
Does targeting fewer visitors reduce OptiMonk billable pageviews?
No. The pricing page counts page loads whether or not a campaign appears. For example, restricting an offer to a small audience does not turn 100,000 site pageviews into the number of popup impressions. Forecast with the billing counter, then use targeting to improve relevance rather than to estimate a smaller bill.
How much cash does annual Essential billing require?
The annual offer checked on 5 September 2026 is $228 paid for a year, displayed as $19 per month at the starting 20,000-pageview allowance. That is an upfront commitment, not a $19 monthly payment. Check the selected pageview step and checkout total before comparing annual and monthly options.
What happens when OptiMonk reaches its traffic allowance?
The vendor FAQ describes notices at 80% and 100%, followed by campaigns stopping at the limit. You can wait for the first-of-month reset or upgrade with a prorated charge. For a promotion, assign someone to monitor the counter before the campaign loses availability.
Does the free plan remove OptiMonk branding?
No. OptiMonk’s FAQ says the logo remains on Free and is removed on paid plans. If an unbranded campaign is a client requirement, confirm that the selected paid plan includes it before launch.
