Who each one is for

Start with your use case, then weigh the strengths and limitations that matter to your site.

Consider Popupsmart for

Shopify stores and small sites that want a working popup the same day, with a real free plan and gamification included.

  • Free plan is usable: 5K pageviews, one live popup, no card required
  • Shopify app rates 4.8/5 from 50 reviews with a one-click install
  • Spin-to-win and lottery-ball gamification ship on every plan
  • Unlimited live popups from the first paid plan

Watch for these limitations

  • A/B testing starts only on Advanced ($57.50/mo billed annually)
  • Free plan has no analytics, one website, and a 5K pageview cap
  • Pageview overage is $10 per extra 10K when auto-extend is on
  • Reviewers still report domain verification taking more than one try

Consider Sleeknote for

Ecommerce teams that need branded onsite campaigns, behavioral targeting and several domains under a visitor-based subscription.

  • Unlimited campaigns and domains are listed across the current public price cards
  • Separate mobile editing, targeting, A/B testing and analytics are documented
  • Phone, chat and email support are listed for the public plans
  • A dedicated plan adds wheels, scratch cards, quizzes and other gamified formats

Watch for these limitations

  • The public offer is a 14-day trial rather than a permanent free tier
  • Price rises with visitor volume and presentation varies by region
  • Gamified formats require the separately priced combined plan
  • The pricing FAQ says exceeding 100% of the visitor allowance triggers a plan upgrade

Jump to a topic

Popupsmart and Sleeknote should be compared against the same campaign requirements, not a presumed difference in design quality. Popupsmart Basic is $390 annually. Sleeknote’s checked USD Core price for the 0–25,000 visitor band implies $660 annually; Core and Gamification implies $912. These offers have different traffic units and domain allowances.

What does the annual price difference mean?

At these entry offers, Sleeknote Core costs $270 more annually than Popupsmart Basic. That is a price difference, not a verdict on value: Sleeknote includes unlimited domains, while Popupsmart Basic includes three websites. Nor is Basic the correct Popupsmart quote for A/B testing; that requirement moves the comparison to Advanced at $690 annually.

For gamified campaigns, use Sleeknote’s Core and Gamification offer rather than quoting Core alone. Verify the exact game, reward delivery, targeting and reporting you intend to use in each product. A generic gamification label does not establish that two campaign formats behave the same way.

How should a seasonal store compare traffic?

Forecast visitors and pageviews separately. A visitor opening five pages does not consume five Sleeknote visitors. Popupsmart’s pageview allowance and Sleeknote’s visitor allowance therefore cannot be compared by their headline numbers alone.

Sleeknote’s pricing FAQ says annual visitor capacity is provided upfront, allowing a busy season to balance against quieter periods. Ask for the actual annual allocation in the selected order and map your month-by-month visitor forecast to it. Do not assume Popupsmart’s monthly pageview allowance rolls into a shared annual pool merely because you pay annually.

For example, a store with a large November peak should record that peak and its annual total, then confirm how each quote handles both. This is a planning method, not a measured result from a store we operated.

What happens if traffic exceeds the allowance?

Sleeknote says it sends alerts at 75% and 90% and upgrades the account after usage exceeds 100%, keeping campaigns running. That protects display continuity but can raise the bill. Assign an owner to the alerts and document the next tier’s price before a seasonal launch.

Compare that policy with the actual quota terms in your Popupsmart account. The annual discount alone does not establish either product’s behavior when traffic is exhausted. Trial expiry is also a separate condition from paid-plan traffic overages.

What should the design evaluation include?

Build one representative campaign in both products using the same mobile layout, fields, font requirements and reward. Check dismissal, keyboard navigation, long translated copy and the destination record created by a submission. Record which changes require custom code and which your team can maintain in the editor.

Shortlist Popupsmart when its pageview and website allowances fit the brief and its required feature tier fits the budget. Shortlist Sleeknote when unlimited domains or the annual visitor allocation is useful for your operation, after pricing the correct campaign package. Neither choice requires assuming one editor produces better design without trying the actual layout.

Questions before you decide

Frequently asked questions

Is Sleeknote Core the right price to compare for games?

Use the separate Core and Gamification offer for that brief. At the checked USD entry visitor band it is $95 monthly or $76 per month billed annually, implying $912 for a year. Core alone is $69 monthly or $660 annually. Confirm the exact game and reward workflow before comparing it with Popupsmart.

Can Sleeknote annual traffic cover a seasonal peak?

Its pricing FAQ says annual visitor capacity is allocated upfront so quieter periods can balance a high season. Confirm the actual annual allocation in your order and compare it with your visitor forecast. Do not assume Popupsmart monthly pageviews are pooled annually just because the subscription is prepaid.

Does Sleeknote pause campaigns at the paid traffic limit?

The pricing FAQ says it alerts at 75% and 90% usage and upgrades the account after 100%, rather than disabling campaigns. Budget for the next tier and assign someone to monitor usage. This paid-plan policy does not establish what happens when a free trial expires.

Is Popupsmart Basic the right comparison for A/B testing?

No. Popupsmart lists A/B testing from Advanced, whose annual price is $690. Basic at $390 annually is not the appropriate testing quote. Confirm the experiment controls, traffic and domain requirements in the Sleeknote plan before comparing the two totals.
