Privy wins this pair if a Shopify store needs popups and the follow-up email in one app. Adoric wins if you want on-site personalisation and already send mail somewhere else. They are not substitutes. Privy from $24/month for displays, $30 for email (privy.com/pricing, 23 August 2026). Adoric's web SaaS starts at $100/month Basic. A separate Shopify app starts at $4.99/month for 100 store orders (adoric.com/pricing, same day). The 2023 $9 Startup web plan is gone.

Who should win: Privy or Adoric?
| Privy | Adoric | |
|---|---|---|
| Job | Capture + Shopify email/SMS | On-site personalisation |
| Meter | Contacts (email) or pageviews (displays) | Pageviews (web) or store orders (Shopify app) |
| Free | 15-day trial, no free plan for new accounts | Free plan on the web product |
| Shopify depth | Native app, product blocks, Flows | Separate $4.99/month Shopify app, 4.9/5 from 245 reviews |
| Editor | Fast, shallower templates | Behaviour, cookie and event targeting on web |
| Pick it when | You do not have an ESP | You do, and you want on-site rules |
Privy in 2026 is an ESP with Convert attached. Adoric is still a popup and on-site messaging tool. The 2023 version of this page treated both as "conversion optimization tools". That framing is now wrong.
How do the features differ?
Adoric's pitch is behavioural segmentation: time on page, referrer, cookies, click and event targeting, in-page content, product recommendations. Reviewers on this site's Adoric profile still flag a recommendation engine that is limited in practice, web-only, and bugs in some settings.
Privy's pitch is the rest of the journey. Welcome Flow, abandoned cart, SMS credits, Shopify coupons. Convert targeting is good (cart value, exit intent, device, URL). It is not as granular as Adoric's event targeting, and it does not try to be.
If the page needs a quiz, a sticky bar and a popup that changes with the cart, both can do it. If the page needs an email that goes out 20 minutes after the popup, only Privy does that without a second vendor.
What about integrations?
Privy (help.privy.com, August 2026): Shopify, BigCommerce, Wix, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Attentive, Postscript, Smile.io, Zapier, webhooks. The Shopify app lists Checkout, Attentive, Emotive, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Postscript, Smile.io.
Adoric: Shopify, Mailchimp and the usual ESP/webhook set. See Adoric integrations.
Privy as a capture layer into Klaviyo is a real setup. Adoric as a capture layer into Mailchimp is a real setup. Privy as a capture layer into Adoric is not a thing anyone should do.
How do prices compare?
Privy, sourced 23 August 2026:
| Privy plan | Starts at |
|---|---|
| Displays-only | $24/month (10,000 pageviews) |
| $30/month (1,500 contacts) | |
| Email + 1,250 SMS credits | $45/month |
Full ladder: Privy pricing.
Adoric, sourced 23 August 2026 from adoric.com/pricing: web Basic $100/month (pageviews). Shopify app from $4.99/month (orders). A/B tests sit on $250 and $350 web tiers. Breakdown: Adoric pricing.
On web list prices, Adoric is no longer the cheap popup. $100 Basic is above Privy Email at $30 and above Displays-only at $24. On Shopify, Adoric at $4.99 is the cheaper capture layer if you already have an ESP. Privy is still the one-app send.
Frequently asked questions
Can Adoric replace Privy's email?
No. Adoric is on-site. You would still need Mailchimp, Klaviyo or similar. That is a valid stack. It is two vendors.
Can Privy replace Adoric's personalisation?
Partly. Convert will target cart and behaviour. It will not match a full on-site personalisation layer. If that is the job, look at Adoric or OptiMonk, not at Privy's email editor.
