How to Set Up a Site on Sumo?

If you are starting a new popup, skip this page and use a living builder. Ranked options: Sumo alternatives.
Archival steps (Sumo Account Manager)
These are the 2023 steps for adding a site on an existing Sumo account.
1. Log in to your Sumo Account Manager (historically sumo.com/sites).
2. Click on the "Add New Site" button on Your Sites page.

3. Enter the URL of the new site, then click "Add Site".

4. Copy the installation code.

Paste that code between the tags of the site's main page (usually the index file), assuming you have file access.
The old "go to Sumo and log in" URL was sumo.com/login. Use app.bdow.com/login now.
Note
You need write access to the theme or a tag manager. Pasting the snippet without that access does nothing.
Extra tips (still true of a leftover snippet)
- Verify the site URL. Include
https://. - Code placement. Between the
<body>tags. Inside<head>or outside<body>was a common miss. - Clear cache after adding the code.
- Ad blockers can hide the launcher while you test.
- Showit users should use the native Site ID field, not a manual paste. BDOW's Showit article is the current path.
FAQs
What if the old Sumo code is on the page and nothing happens?
The domain behind the snippet may still call SumoMe hosts. Log in at app.bdow.com and confirm the Site ID matches. If sumo.com/sites 404s, that is expected: sumo.com is no longer this product.
Can I still add several websites?
BDOW's public Plus plan is 1 site; Pro is 3 sites (bdow.com/pricing, 23 August 2026). The old "add as many as you like" copy on this page is not a current offer.
