Sumo does not sell popup tools in 2026. Showit bought the product in December 2023, relaunched it as BDOW! in April 2024, and sumo.com now loads an unrelated app. An alternatives list is not a sidebar here. It is the answer.
Figures below were read from the vendor pages on 23 August 2026. Wisepops no longer publishes a price (demo form only). Adoric's public paid ladder now starts at $100/month, so it is a poor Sumo substitute.
Which Sumo alternative should you pick?
| If you… | Pick | Paid from | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Already run Sumo on Showit | BDOW! | $19/mo billed yearly | Same engine, native Site ID install |
| Want a free plan that is not a demo | OptiMonk | $0, then $19/mo billed yearly | 10k pageviews, all features (badge: see OptiMonk FAQ vs pricing grid) |
| Want popups plus the email send | Mailmunch | $13.99/mo billed yearly | Forms, landing pages, broadcasts in one bill |
| Mostly need a top-of-page bar | Hello Bar | $0, then $39/mo billed yearly (hero) | Free up to 5,000 lifetime views |
| Want a general popup builder | Popupsmart | $32.50/mo billed yearly | 50k pageviews, 3 sites, public grid |
| Need deep A/B and campaign analytics | OptinMonster | Intro $7/mo billed yearly (Basic sticker $210/year) | No free plan. 14-day refund. |
Sources: bdow.com/pricing, optimonk.com/pricing, mailmunch.com/pricing, hellobar.com/pricing, popupsmart.com/pricing, optinmonster.com/pricing. Hello Bar's feature table lists Growth at $29/mo billed yearly; the hero CTA is $39. We quote the hero and flag the clash.
Do not replace Sumo with another dead listing. Do not keep Sumo for share buttons (use a share widget) or heat maps (Clarity or Hotjar).
OptiMonk
OptiMonk is the first tool we would actually open a tab for. The free plan is the whole product up to 10,000 pageviews: A/B tests and gamified widgets. The pricing grid marks Free as unbranded; OptiMonk's FAQ, quoted on our OptiMonk page, still says a badge can stay. Essential is $19/month billed yearly ($228/year; $29 month-to-month) for 20,000 pageviews and two domains. Growth jumps to $69/month billed yearly.
That free plan is stricter than BDOW's on conversions (BDOW Free is capped at 100 conversions) and looser on features (BDOW locks A/B and badge removal behind Plus). For a new site, OptiMonk wins.
Head-to-head: OptiMonk vs Sumo.

Fits. Stores that will use spin-to-win and on-site personalisation, and anyone who wants to try the real product at $0.
Skip. Template styling is shallower than the marketing suggests. Exit intent on mobile is a known weak spot.
Mailmunch
Mailmunch is the cheap "popup plus email" bundle Sumo used to approximate with List Builder plus welcome emails. Lead-capture Premium is $13.99/month billed yearly ($19.99 month-to-month), 1,000 contacts, branding off. There is a $0 lead-capture tier with the badge. A separate email-marketing ladder starts at Essential $6.99/month billed yearly.
Sumo pushed subscribers to Mailchimp. Mailmunch can be Mailchimp, or it can be the ESP. If you were paying Sumo and Mailchimp, this is the consolidation.
Head-to-head: Sumo vs Mailmunch.
Wisepops
Wisepops used to lead this page. It is no longer a first pick: wisepops.com/pricing redirects to a demo form. Last published public rate we have is $49/month for 100k pageviews, from January 2023. Until they print a number again, we will not rank it as a Sumo replacement.

Hello Bar
Hello Bar is the honest match if your Sumo campaign was a Smart Bar. Free forever, 5,000 lifetime views (not a monthly reset), unlimited popups, badge on. Growth is $39/month billed yearly for 50,000 views, A/B tests, three seats. Premium $69 and Elite $129 sit above that, same billing.
It will not replace Sumo's heat maps or Share. It will replace a bar, a modal, and a takeover. That is enough for most leftover Sumo sites.
Head-to-head: Sumo vs Hello Bar.
Popupsmart
Popupsmart is the no-drama paid builder. Free: 5,000 pageviews, one live popup, one site. Basic: $32.50/month billed yearly ($39 month-to-month), 50,000 pageviews, three sites, branding off. A/B tests start on Advanced at $57.50/month billed yearly.
Use it when you want a public grid, a JS snippet, and no Showit relationship. Do not use it if A/B tests are the first thing you need; they are not on Basic.

Sleeknote stays on this page because the 2023 version listed it. It is a design-led ecommerce popup tool with a trial and no public starting price in our file. Fine if you already like the look. Not the migration default.
OptinMonster
OptinMonster is the heavy campaign suite: 700+ templates, Exit-Intent as a trademarked feature, impression-based billing rather than site pageviews. No free plan. Intro Basic is $7/month billed yearly against a $210/year sticker, and the page is explicit that renewals are full price. Pro (exit intent, badge off) intro is $29/month billed yearly against $870/year.
Pick it if you will actually run split tests and read the reports. Skip it if you wanted Sumo's $0 tier.
Privy, Poptin, Adoric
Privy is capture plus email and SMS, aimed at Shopify, priced on contacts. Starter was $15/month in our 2023 file; we have not re-verified that figure in this pass. Use it if you are a Shopify shop that wants the follow-up message in the same product.

Poptin is a visitor-metered widget with a usable free tier. We do not have a current public starting price on file.

Adoric is the one we would not use as a Sumo stand-in. The 2023 page on this site quoted $9/month. On 23 August 2026 adoric.com/pricing lists Basic at $100/month (300,000 pageviews, 3 domains). That is a different product tier. Comparison: Sumo vs Adoric.
What about BDOW itself?
BDOW is not an "alternative" in the directory sense. It is Sumo with a new name. Treat it as a migration target, not as a discovery.
| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 site, 100 conversions, 500 emails/month, badge on |
| Plus | $19/mo billed yearly | 1 site, 25k pageviews, badge off, A/B |
| Pro | $39/mo billed yearly | 3 sites, 25k pageviews/site |
