Sumo VS Mailmunch Comparison

The verdict

Sumo vs Mailmunch is a dead brand against a cheap living bundle. Mailmunch still sells popups, landing pages and email. Sumo is BDOW now. If you wanted List Builder plus a welcome email, Mailmunch is the replacement. If you already have a Sumo Site ID on Showit, stay on BDOW.

Sumo checked August 2026; Mailmunch checked August 2026. Both vendors change prices without notice — confirm on their own pages before you buy.

Sumo is not for sale. Mailmunch is, and it still does the job Sumo used to advertise: catch the email, then write to it.

📌
Verdict. New stack: Mailmunch. Leftover Sumo on Showit: BDOW. The 2023 version of this page said Sumo had the "more advanced" plan. Sumo has no plan. Mailmunch Premium is $13.99/month billed yearly on mailmunch.com/pricing (23 August 2026).

Who is still selling?

Showit acquired Sumo in December 2023 and renamed it BDOW! in April 2024. sumo.com now loads Refract. Mailmunch is still a popup, landing-page and email product at mailmunch.com.

Sumo captured leads and handed them to Mailchimp. Mailmunch can do that, or it can be the inbox. That is the real difference, and it survived the Sumo brand.

Mailmunch's page has two grids (Lead Capture and Email Marketing) and two refund windows (30 days on one block, 60 on another). We used the Lead Capture Premium number because that is the popup SKU. Confirm the refund days on the checkout you are actually offered.

The 2023 version of this page said Sumo priced on unique visitors and Mailmunch on subscribers. Sumo Pro was a flat $39/month in our January 2023 notes, not a visitor ladder. Mailchimp-style subscriber metering is Mailmunch's model, then and now.

Features that actually differ

Mailmunch is a small marketing stack: popups, landing pages, broadcasts, Shopify cart email. Native apps for WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Weebly. No heat map. No share bar. Templates are basic; form widths are fiddly. There is no public API in our 2023 profile.

BDOW is the Sumo form builder: targeting, A/B on Plus, ecommerce hooks, Showit. It will not replace your ESP unless you only need a welcome mail and a 500–10,000 email cap.

Sumo, historically, sat in the middle and looked broader because Share and Heat Maps were in the launcher. Those apps are not a reason to keep a dead brand.

Integrations: both talked to Mailchimp, Constant Contact, AWeber. BDOW adds HubSpot, Klaviyo, Kit, Flodesk, Showit. Mailmunch leans on website builders (Wix, Weebly) and can skip the ESP entirely. Archives: Sumo integrations, Mailmunch integrations.

Which one should you pick?

Mailmunch if you want one bill for the popup and the email, and you are not already in Klaviyo or Mailchimp. $13.99/month billed yearly undercuts leftover Sumo Pro and undercuts BDOW Plus.

BDOW if the Site ID is live on Showit and the ESP connection already works. Moving to Mailmunch means rebuilding forms.

OptiMonk if you only want the popup and you want a free plan with every feature ($0 / 10k pageviews). That ranking is on Sumo alternatives.
