Sumo if share buttons and a heat map are on the same shopping list as the opt-in. OptinMonster if you will not use the rest of the kit.

Is Sumo still a serious OptinMonster alternative?

As a popup specialist, no. As a "one script, several widgets" install, yes.

Sumo's free plan allows unlimited subscribers and keeps Sumo branding on the campaign. OptinMonster has no free plan and hides the badge from Pro up. That is the cleanest product difference.

OptinMonster's ESP list is also the deeper one. Sumo's own limits on this site include awkward connections to smaller email platforms.

Which one should a blog pick?

A blog that wants share buttons and an email bar from one install: Sumo, and live with the branding or pay Pro.

A blog that wants Exit-Intent, A/B tests and Mailchimp groups: OptinMonster Plus or Pro.

Year two of OptinMonster Pro is $870. That is a lot of money for a blog that only needed a share bar.

Other options: OptinMonster alternatives. Numbers: OptinMonster pricing. Products: OptinMonster, Sumo.
