Pick Poptin. Sumo no longer sells under that name. Showit acquired it in December 2023, rebranded it to BDOW! in April 2024, and sumo.com/pricing now loads an unrelated product (Refract). We do not publish a Sumo starting price.
The 2023 version of this comparison treated Sumo as a live growth kit: opt-in forms, share buttons, heat maps, a free plan with unlimited subscribers. That brand is discontinued. Existing logins may still work; new buyers should not choose "Sumo."

What can we still say about Poptin?
Poptin is a popup and form builder. Free: 1,000 unique visitors a month, one domain, unlimited campaigns, no credit card. Basic: $25/mo ($240/yr) for 10,000 visitors. Pro: $59/mo, 50,000 visitors, four domains. Agency: $119/mo, 150,000 visitors, unlimited domains. Annual is 20% off. Source: poptin.com/pricing.
A/B testing is on the vendor compare table for every Poptins plan. Triggers include exit intent, delay, scroll, cart, click. Integrations include the usual ESPs plus Zapier, Make and webhooks. Review snapshot: Capterra 4.8/5 from 350 reviews (21 July 2026), customer service 4.9.

What can we not say about Sumo?
There is no current Sumo price to print. The living popup product is BDOW at bdow.com/pricing. We did not re-audit BDOW's 2026 ladder for this Poptin pair page; if you need that tool, start there, not on sumo.com.
If you already have a Sumo install and it still collects emails, stay until it breaks, then migrate. If you are choosing a tool this month, do not choose Sumo on the basis of this site's 2023 copy.
If you wanted Sumo's old job, what do you open instead?
Sumo's old brief was "opt-in forms plus extra growth widgets in one script." Closest live options on this site:
| Old Sumo job | Open this | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Opt-in popup, public price | Poptin | Free plan plus $25 Basic, visitor meter |
| Opt-in plus the email send | Mailmunch | Premium $19.99/mo or $13.99 billed annually |
| Shopify capture plus email/SMS | Privy | One product for the popup and the follow-up |
| Share buttons as the point | n/a on this directory | Not a popup-builder problem |
Poptin vs Mailmunch is the comparison to read next if the list, not the popup, is the product. The rest of the field: Poptin alternatives.
Should anyone still compare these two?
Only if you already pay for Sumo (or BDOW) and you are deciding whether to migrate. Then the test is: does the current dashboard still take a card, still fire the forms, still export to your ESP? If yes, migration is optional. If no, Poptin is the cheap public-price replacement for the popup half of what Sumo used to be. It will not replace share buttons or Sumo-branded analytics. Those were never Poptin's product.
